Director of Finance - Financial ServicesThousand Oaks, CA

Director of Finance - Financial Services

A private equity sponsored specialty finance company is seeking a Director of Finance. This role is with a rapidly growing division located in Thousand Oaks and will function as the head finance person within the division. The focus of the responsibilities will be on financial planning and analysis, strategic planning, KPI analysis, and reporting to the parent company.

Primary responsibilities will consist of the following:

  • Serve as the finance leader for the business unit overseeing all financial matters including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, accounting, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide analytical decision support to senior management
  • Prepare and coordinate the budgeting process for the business unit
  • Develop and analyze weekly and monthly metrics including key performance indicators to assess the business better

  • Knowledge of construction specific business concepts such as bonding, lien releases, and job costing
  • Experience with consolidated financial reporting of multiple entities
  • Good demonstrated job stability
  • Familiarity with Viewpoint or other construction related software such as Timberline

The company operates in multiple states throughout the West Coast and provides a full complement of consulting services that combine both strategy and execution.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional who has experience working for a similar type of business (i.e., professional services firm with employees in multiple states). This position calls for a self-directed individual who can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and establish routine processes where there currently are none. This is an opportunity for someone to make an impact on an organization at an early stage.

Primary responsibilities will consist of the following:

  • Manage the month end close and related processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and advise the CEO on trends and potential issues in the business.

This position will pay a base salary of $125,000 to $150,000 plus discretionary bonus. In addition, the individual will be eligible for a full suite of benefits.

Buxbaum HCS, a leading CFO consulting and search firm in Southern California, is looking for a Director of Business Development who will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This individual will primarily generate opportunities by developing relationships with other trusted advisors to companies such as CPAs, attorneys, and bankers. In addition, this person will interface with potential clients, identify opportunities, and negotiate terms for engagements. This is an exciting opportunity to help a well established regional firm continue to grow and play a crucial role with more companies throughout Southern California.

The ideal candidate is a savvy sales oriented person, who can both open doors and close opportunities. The individual must project a sense of confidence and credibility. Integrity is critical.
